By Car

Fort Smith is located at the intersection of Interstate 40, Interstate 540 and Route 71.

By bus

The city is served by Jefferson Lines to other locations like Kansas City, Little Rock, and Oklahoma City.

The best way to get around and see the city is by car. Public transportation is also provided by Fort Smith Transit. Although Fort Smith is Arkansas's second largest city, it is relatively compact and moving should not be a big problem. In the center of the city, a trolleybus operates, providing transportation between the Belle Grove Historic District and the Fort Smith National Historic Site. Razorback Cab offers taxi service in the city.
